In this week’s #90secondFIX, Chris Lees explores how to get the most out of PDF and XML FIX documentation. Where having accurate PDF and XML documentation is good, how can we take it a step further and make it easier to manage internally, and easier to understand for your customers. The concept of “machine-readable” FIX specifications doesn’t mean excluding the human-readable element, and by using a format that combines both, such as FinSpec or FIX Orchestra, you can maintain one central document to be digested and understood by both human and machine.
In this episode, we reference FinSpec, written in the JSON format:
https://finspec.io
FIX Orchestra, in the XML format:
https://www.fixtrading.org/standards/fix-orchestra/
And of course, QuickFIX (XML), which we have explored more in this episode:
